Audio Diode with Digital Camera Support – FA10BC-4

As the risks associated with webcams and audio devices continue to grow (see “In the News” below), High Sec Labs is responding with enhanced security by adding webcam support to our audio diode lineup.

The FA10BC-4 safeguards privacy by blocking unauthorized access and preventing accidental transmissions. When idle, the device remains in a secure (closed) state, disabling all speaker, microphone, and webcam connections.

User control is simple and intuitive — two push buttons, one for the speakers and one for the mic and webcam, give you complete authority over your devices. In the secure state, the buttons illuminate green for instant reassurance that connections are blocked. When interaction is needed, a quick press activates the selected interface for a limited time, with the button turning red to clearly indicate active use. This design ensures you’re always aware of your security status at a glance, minimizing the risk of leaving devices exposed.

In addition to webcam security, the FA10BC-4 enforces unidirectional audio through a low-pass filter, protecting against data leaks. This design eliminates threats like eavesdropping through retasked speakers or high-frequency covert transmissions.

FBI Warns of Remote Access Trojan Targeting Web Cameras

The FBI has issued a Private Industry Notification (PIN)highlighting HiatusRAT campaigns targeting Chinese-branded webcams and DVRs. Remote Access Trojans (RATs) allow malicious actors to seize control of devices remotely, posing significant threats to privacy and security.
HiatusRAT operators have previously launched scanning campaigns targeting IoT devices across the US, Australia, Canada, New Zealand, and the United Kingdom.
At High Sec Labs, we believe that incorporating audio diodes with webcam support — like the FA10BC-4 — can play a critical role in mitigating the risk of RAT attacks by ensuring devices remain physically isolated when not in use.
