HSL’s rich portfolio of certified TAA/BAA Peripheral Sharing Device (PSD) PP4.0 products has four new members: (a) The HID USB eLock filter (FH10N-4) that provides a secure physical lockdown of USB ports, while filtering USB data to allow only HID data streams to pass, and (b) Keyboard/Mouse switches with 2-, 4-, and 8-port capacities (SM20N-4, SM40N-4, SM80N-4) that support direct connection of display screens to computer sources while securely sharing keyboard and mouse resources.
TechCrunch has reported that Forescout Research has tracked a hacking group called “Mora_001” that deployed a ransomware strain called “SuperBlack” after gaining access to corporate networks by exploiting vulnerabilities in Fortinet Firewalls. The ransomware operators apparently first exfiltrated data and then encrypted sensitive data on the victims’ servers creating a dual-pronged threat for ransom demands. The Superblack ransomware appears to be based on the ransomware used in LockBit 3.0 hacking gang attacks, the bad actor group that was disrupted by US authorities last year.
While these vulnerabilities have since been patched, the attacks underscore the importance of preventing data leaks between different air-gapped networks by using secure peripheral sharing devices.
Global Force Symposium and Exposition, March 25-27, Von Braun Center, Huntsville, Alabama.
HSL showcased its portfolio of secure and rugged MILSPEC KVM switching products at this annual meeting connecting the defense industry with the needs of the US Army warfighters. Along with its own portfolio, HSL demonstrated KVM integration with rugged display products from Huntsville-based MaxVision. We are looking forward to seeing everyone again next year at AUSA 2025, Huntsville.
March 20-27, Bnei Brak, Israel
Overwhelming response from Israeli customers participating in HSL’s customer conference led to extending the event from a single meeting to three separate events to accommodate all attendees. The conference was sponsored together with Electis and Opalis who provide special furniture and display screens for control rooms, auditoriums, meetings rooms and other environments. Together, HSL, Electis and Opalis demonstrated comprehensive and fully integrated solutions for these applications.
Come see HSL showcase its broad portfolio of secure peripheral sharing solutions, with an emphasis on its SoundSentryTM solution for secure meeting rooms and its NeousTM KVM over IP solution for secure control rooms. Augmenting the secure portfolio are USB-C and Thunderbolt docking and extension products together with a full line of commercial KVM switching solutions. All of products to be shown are TAA/BAA compliant.
