General Availability of Combiner Switches with Advanced Functionality

HSL’s 4-port and 8-port Combiners, both the secure and commercial versions are available now with new features and functionality.

The new functionality includes adding channel labels, duplicating a source, direct mode for ultra-low latency, extended dual head support, extended touch support and improved mouse support for gaming. The secure Combiner family including 2-port (SC21H-4), 8-port (SC82PH-4), and 16-port (SC162PH-4) are now listed on the NIAP PP4.0 PSD PCL.

Second Largest US Hospital Operator Leaks Personal & Protected Health Information

US healthcare provider Ascension, a non-profit health system and the 2nd largest US hospital operator, disclosed that protected health information was leaked in what is believed to be an attack by the Black Basta ransomware gang.

The attack vector was a malicious file that was downloaded by a user. A warning from the Health Information Sharing and Analysis Center disclosed that Black Basta is actively targeting health organizations.

A well-intended user may  introduce a malware vector through an inadvertent download or URL click. Air-gapping networks and using secure peripheral sharing devices are an important step in protecting networks.

InfoComm 2024 Wrap-Up

At InfoComm, HSL exhibited a broad portfolio of secure products attracting a flow of visitors to its booth. HSL’s audio diodes, including a version with web-cam support, generated interest from integrators wishing to secure meeting rooms and executive offices. Visitors discovered that HSL’s USB-C extenders and docking stations are TAA and BAA compliant, for use in both commercial and government installations. The Neous secure KVM/Video distributed multi-source / multi-user matrix solution demonstrated how KVMoIP can be deployed securely. HSL’s NIAP certified KVM Isolators, showcased at InfoComm, are indispensable in securing KVM and AV over IP installations. We are looking forward to seeing everyone next year at InfoComm 2025 in Orlando.
