Polish Power Plant Cyberattack Exposes Network Boundary Vulnerabilities

Attackers recently breached a Polish combined heat and power plant through a private cellular network used to access remote equipment, ultimately reaching industrial control systems and disrupting a steam turbine and process-water treatment system. The incident demonstrates how connectivity between environments can create pathways for attackers to move laterally and reach vulnerable devices.
For critical infrastructure, hardware-enforced isolation creates definitive security boundaries between networks and devices, preventing lateral movement and limiting the impact of compromised systems.
